Stampin'Up! Independent Demonstrator since 2003

MDS has got to be the best holiday saver around! I LOVE how easy it is to create adorable projects and to then hit print for the number of items you need! This year I have decided to create all my tags using the Color Me Christmas download. I love this stamp brush set and have been having a great time using the freeform tool to color in the images! I have created these two tags (so far!) and printed off 20 of each! I’m SO thrilled with them and love that by just adding a little bit of linen thread you still have an adorable, hybrid creation!

What holiday projects have you created with MDS?

A sweet thing to bake, while talking to your children about it’s meaning; perhaps in place of your usual biscuits..? Easy to make with normal, sweetened bread dough :)

Baking for ChristmasPhoto from

Salt dough nativity fun

This is pretty cute, and a fun craft to make and paint! It can be stuck on the fridge, or in your child’s room, or converted into a Christmas tree ornament, just add string while still soft! The one below can be bought on Etsy, but is also fun and simple to make yourself:

Quick Salt Dough Recipe:

1/2 cup salt

1/2 cup water

1 cup flour

Add the salt and flour together in a bowl, and add the water in a bit at a time, mixing altogether. The dough is good when it’s dryish but not sticky. If sticky, add a bit more flour. Knead the dough, roll out and cut out your shapes. Dry your nativity characters in a low heat oven for 3 hours, or pop them in the microwave for 3 minutes, and then 20 seconds at a time thereafter until perfect. Once cooled, paint them :)

  1. Drive around and look at Christmas lights
  2. Take dog/cat treats to an animal shelter
  3. Take books to a children’s hospital
  4. Visit a retirement/nursing home
  5. Make dinner for families at a Ronald McDonald House
  6. Volunteer at a homeless shelter
  7. Go to church/mass
  8. Read Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’
  9. Adopt a family
  10. Have each family member write a short paragraph for a family year-end letter
  11. Take a family photo
  12. Have appetizers for dinner on Christmas Eve with your kids {no major cooking involved!}
  13. Read the Christmas story from Luke 2:1-20
  14. Take baked goods to your local fire station
  15. Open a ‘family’ gift on Christmas Eve {like a game everyone can play that night}
